Dust Collection Solutions: Laser Notching & Winding

Before laser notching, it is necessary to clean the surface of the electrode by rolling brushes to remove these particles.

Laser notching creates tabs by vaporizing foil along the seam.

Following this step, the positive and negative electrode sheets, along with the separator film, are wound together to form basic cell cores in a process called winding.

Compared to mechanical notching, laser notching produces significantly more dust, mainly from copper and aluminum components. This increases the risk of explosions.

Therefore, it's crucial to consider explosion-proof measures when designing the dust removal system, including dust collectors and pipelines.

To tackle this, Villo has equipped this process with an Inert Powder Feeder to neutralize dust and prevent explosions.

Additionally, the dust control expert has developed a Scrap Compressor Machine to collect and compress the substantial waste generated during this process.
