During sanding process, the wooden surface is rubbed with a sandpaper to oven out the surface and to remove the impurities. During this process, fine dust in large amount is often generated which stay suspended in the air and can cause adverse respiratory issues to the employees.

Solutions

Generally, a dust suction port is often introduced on the top of the sanding machine. If multiple machines are connected to the central dust collection system, it is necessary to open more maintenance windows on the pipeline during the design phase. Adding spark detector to monitor the dust in the pipeline all the time will ensure the safety and efficiency of dust removal system in the workshop.

In addition, the electrostatic properties of the dust must also be considered. The filter material with anti-static coating needs to be selected for filtering. For example, if multiple machines use the central dust removal system, it is necessary to open more maintenance windows on the pipeline during the pipeline design and add equipment such as spark detectors.
