Calendering: Dust Collection

In the ever-evolving industrial landscape, maintaining a clean and safe environment is paramount, especially in sectors such as lithium-ion battery manufacturing, metal working, 3D printing, and photovoltaics. Our latest video delves into the intricacies of managing dust during the electrode calendaring process—a critical phase in battery production where positive and negative materials are compressed with rollers to enhance energy density.

During this process, controlling dust from the negative electrode coating paste is crucial. Fine powders that adhere to the rollers are meticulously removed using a scraper. To efficiently collect this dust, a suction cover is deployed before calendaring. Additionally, it's essential to clean the fine powders from the surface of the pole piece material, typically achieved with a roller brush and a suction cover. This comprehensive dust control strategy ensures a cleaner production environment and enhances the overall quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process.
